Memorial

I hope everyone enjoyed the really beautiful weekend!  While E was in Florida soaking up the sun, my family  hit up Dan Zanes in Concord, spent some time with family up at Mountain Base, hosted a family get together, and made an impromptu stop downtown to watch the Memorial Day Parade.

While I've had a few friends serve in recent wars, and older family members serve in past ones, I've never known anyone personally who has lost their life serving their country.  I will however, never forget the day that Marine Corporal Philip Charte's body was returned to Goffstown to be laid to rest.  I had been on my way to my parents' house in Manchester and on my drive into town, I found what seemed like the entire town on the sidewalks, young people and old, holding american flags and in silence as the car carrying Philip's body came through.  I was so moved by the reverence the people of Goffstown had for this young man, and still when I think about it, it brings tears to my eyes.

I am so proud to live in Goffstown, and so thankful for people like Philip.

Summer Children's Series @ the Palace Theatre

Making summer plans? Be sure to check out the Summer Children's Series at the Palace Theatre. Shows are completely child friendly and include music and audience participation. Some of this year's performances include Cinderella, Pinocchio, Alice in Wonderland, Rapunzel, Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, and The Wizard of Oz. Each performance has 4 show times to meet everyone's schedule! After the performance kids get a chance to meet the characters who are played by professional actors. Shows last 45 minutes and cost $7 a ticket.

I've been taking my daughter for a few years and she always loves them! Also don't be afraid to bring little one...it really is a child friendly event!
